According to Louisville Basketball coach Rick Pitino, his starting senior shooting guard and towel wielding maniac Jerry Smith will miss the duration of The Big East tournament due to a severely sprained thumb. "It's all swollen and black and blue", says Pitino about Smith's thumb. The team doctor said it could be two days or two weeks for Jerry to recover from his injury. Everyone is hoping to get him back before the NCAA's but only time and rest will tell the tale.
Smith has started 29 out of 30 games this year and has been THE ultimate cheerleader when on the bench, jumping up and down and swinging towels with no regard for human life. Peyton Siva and Edgar Sosa will finally get a chance to play on the court together for the first time all season while Saturday's hero/legend Kyle Kuric will definitely be in the mix as well. Louisville starts off their postseason tonight at 9pm against The Cincinnati Bearcats on ESPN.
